Press Kit

The below press kit was part of the Ground-Breaking Ceremony for a Caltrans $120M highway construction project on Interstate 5 in Shasta County, the Redding to Anderson Six Lane Expansion Project, or “RASL”. As the event manager, I was in charge of all aspects of this major event, working closely with the RASL’s project manager and the District’s Director. This was an event requiring major planning and following up closely, as it involved many stakeholders. Planning this event was a very good experience in team building. The successful outcome was not the success of just one person, but of many people, one way or another.

After having to reschedule this event twice, one for a wildfire and another one due to heavy rain, the event took place with 300 key people in attendance. The press kit was designed as a tool for news reporters but also for anyone wishing to understand the history of this transportation project as well as its relevance in the region.
